At Flowifie, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the "Flowifie" Google Sheets add-on ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our add-on to convert Google Sheets data into Mermaid.ink flowcharts. We do not transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than the ones provided.

Information We Collect

Flowifie operates entirely within the Google Sheet where it is used and does not access other Google Sheets or store your Google user data on our servers. All data processing occurs locally within your Google account. We will not sell your data to third parties, but we may share it with our partners who help us provide our services.  We limit the use of your data to provide or improve user-facing features of the add-on, including: 

• Spreadsheet Data: Flowifie reads data from the active Google Sheet Flowifie template input section, to generate flowchart diagrams using Mermaid.ink. For its AI feature, Flowifie uses the enterprise-grade Gemini API (Paid Tier). Your flowchart data and prompts are never used to train AI models.  Flowifie may also write to the active sheet to insert flowchart images, links, or template data.   

• Spreadsheet Metadata: We use Google Sheets’ Developer Metadata to store operational data (e.g., template versions, flowchart settings) within your sheet. This data remains in your Google account and is not accessible to us.  

• User Interface Interactions: Flowifie creates an add-on ("Flowifie") in the Google Sheets Workspace side panel to enable interaction with the add-on’s features. For this, we only make use of Google's Card Service UI components. 

• Error and Diagnostic Data: To improve the reliability of Flowifie, we collect anonymized error messages and technical diagnostic logs when the add-on fails to perform an action. This data is strictly technical and does not include any personally identifiable information or your spreadsheet content.

How We Use Your Information

The data accessed by Flowifie is used solely to:

• Generate flowchart diagrams via Mermaid.ink based on your Google Sheet data.

• Create and maintain templates and flowchart sheets within your Google Sheet.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance and stability of the add-on. 

• Ensure the add-on functions as intended within Google Sheets.

Third-Party Services

To render flowchart diagrams, Flowifie transmits relevant data from your Google Sheet (e.g. text entered in the Flowifie template input section, used to define the flowchart structure) to Mermaid.ink, a third-party service. No personally identifiable information is included in this data unless you explicitly include it in the flowchart content. Mermaid.ink processes this data to generate the flowchart image, and, based on their practices, does not store user data by default. Mermaid.ink is an open-source project, and you can learn more about its data practices through its public repository.

Data Storage and Security

All your sheet data processed by Flowifie remains within your Google account and is managed by Google’s secure infrastructure. We do not maintain separate servers or databases to store your sheet information.  Anonymized error reports are stored securely and are used exclusively for debugging purposes. These logs contain no information that could identify you or the specific content of your files. 

The add-on’s scripts run entirely within Google’s environment, adhering to Google’s security standards.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data within Google Sheets. You can:  

• Delete Data: Remove any Flowifie-generated templates, flowcharts, or metadata by deleting the relevant sheets or uninstalling the add-on.  

• Restrict Access: Revoke Flowifie’s access to your Google Sheets at any time via your Google account settings.

As we do not store your personal information or data, we are unable to directly fulfill requests for access, correction, or deletion. However, you can manage and delete all data associated with the Flowifie add-on directly within your Google Sheet. Uninstalling the add-on does not automatically delete the data created by the add-on within the user's Google Sheet.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page, with the effective date updated accordingly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
